July 8th 2025 - On a video call with some friends from the United States, they mentioned they were going to Ireland in July for a wedding and jokingly asked if anyone wanted to come babysit their one year old. Having both wanted to go to Ireland for as long as we could remember, my wife and I looked at plane tickets, just out of curiosity, and found a killer deal on some round trip flights we couldn’t turn down. Another one of our friends met up with us there and, after babysitting, we drove around the Irish countryside for a ten day trip. Driving on the other side of the road pretty quickly felt normal to me, and to my shock I even managed to parallel park on the first try, but the one thing that was difficult to get used to was the amount of winding cow-path typed two way roads that had a speed limit of 80km/hr, and high hedges or stone fences on either side that made it nearly impossible to see approaching cars. We were lucky if I managed to reach 40km/hr on these roads. After experiencing a few days of this, we all concluded that an 8hr bus tour of the Ring of Kerry might be the way to go, or it would take us several days at the speeds we were managing. Halfway into the bus tour, we stopped for lunch at a cliff side restaurant where I spotted this horse in a field. After eating, I ran down the stairs at the back of the cliff, crossed a road, and snapped this shot.
