July 31st 2023 - When we first started dating I jokingly said to my then girlfriend, now wife, that we should go to Iceland to celebrate our one year anniversary. Sure enough, the next year we flew to Iceland and lived in a rented camper van for a couple weeks, camping in parks near the eastern and southern coasts of the island nation. On one of the days when my wife was driving, I was looking at our travel itinerary on my phone when I felt the van swerve, my seatbelt tighten against my shoulder, and heard the gravel of the road’s shoulder grind under our tires.
