Icelandic Puffin

Description
July 30th 2023 - As an avid photographer and lover of nature, I have a bucket list of shots I would love to capture in my lifetime. For as long as I can remember, one of those shots was of a profile of a puffin. When we planned to go to Iceland to celebrate our one year anniversary my then girlfriend, now wife, knew about my affinity for puffins, and arranged a puffin and volcano tour on the small island of Vestmannaeyjabaer. After the tour, we trekked out on our own and, as the sun was setting, we came across a puffin nesting ground, where I was able to capture this shot. The moment I saw this picture on my camera’s screen, I knew this was the image I had spent so long dreaming about capturing. I got to my feet, and turned to my wife with tears in my eyes and an ear to ear smile. • Canon EOS 6D Mark II • EF 70-200mm f/2.8 III USM + Canon 2x Extender || 400mm focal length • 1/200sec • f/5.6 • ISO 800
